The Catholic wedding
is a sacred ritual. Priest always encourages couples to have their
wedding only at the altar in Catholic Church. He will also request 3
weeks in advance to check back to your church that you are free to
marry.

The Protestant
wedding is a religious wedding lead by the Protestant Pastor. It is the
simple wedding ceremony on the beach and does not require any paperwork.
The couple will also receive the certificate of marriage from the
Protestant Church in Koh Samui.

Non-Religious Western Ceremony : THB

The very simple
ceremony designed for couples to create their own wedding experiences
through the exchange of their own personal vows with the background of
sunset, sand and sea by English speaking Master of Ceremony in the
presence of your wedding party or a few witnesses chosen by you or just
the two of you.

Thai Buddhist Ceremony : THB 18,000 |
|
The ceremony is
traditionally held in the morning. There are many ways the ceremony can
be conducted. We conduct the ceremony at the Hin Lad Monastery, 8
kilometers from our resort. The time is traditionally at 10.00 a.m. and
will last approximately 30 minutes.
9 monks are invited
for the ceremony in the Monastery’s chapel. The bride and groom together
light the candles and joss sticks then sit closely to each other facing
the nine monks. Circled holy strings are draped on the bride and groom’s
heads which connected to the holy string in the monks’ hands. This
symbolizes the spiritual union of the bride and groom. All monks chant
prayers of health, happiness and prosperity in the ancient language for
the bride and groom. The Head Monk blesses the bride and groom with the
holy water. The ceremony in the chapel ends up when the bride and groom
offer the alms, flower and gift to the monks.
