There are many options for transportation on Koh Samui. Vehicles can be rented from a number of tour agents. A rental vehicle is not your only means to get around. One way is walk and take in the sights at a slow pace.

The red pick-up trucks hauling passengers in the back are called Song Thaws, meaning two rows. Thais and visitors use this handy means of transportation around the island.

The full range of motorcycles is available for rental. The simplest and easiest to drive is a Honda Dream or Suzuki Love. But for real excitement BIG bikes in all types are available for rent also. There is an often-overlooked Helmet Law in Thailand. The current fine for not wearing a helmet is 500 Baht!. Don't say you weren't warned!!

The number of agents offering bicycles for rent has dramatically increased since the completion of the major roads on Koh Samui. The Ring Road has been extended an additional lane in each direction. This gives cyclists some room for safety and offers exercise with the beautiful views.
